Is it a must for you to be passionate about what you’re earning from?
This is one of the most controversial things that will be discussed in this blog and yes, I have an answer for you.
The answer is no. You do not need to be passionate about your business.
Don’t start a business out of your passion.
Your passion is something that makes you want to get up in the morning. It is what drives you — it is what you love.
However, your business is something that generates income for you. It is something that will help you pursue your passion. It is your source of money.
Those two things are different from each other. There is no need to base your business on your passion.
The important thing is this: It just has to make money!
It has to generate funds! Your startup business has to generate funds for you to be able to do the things that you love.
Your business is something that you do everyday. If you build your business around your passion, you will not have freedom. There will also be a tendency for you to dislike your passion because you’ll have to do it over and over again, every single day.
Build a business that will allow you to pursue your passion — and will enable you to achieve freedom!
If you are passionate about something that will not generate money for you, then you must build a business that will propel you forward.
Build a business that will enable you to do whatever it is that you love.
Here are a few questions that you can ask yourself when building your own business.
What is it that I can do that will get people to pay me?
Do you know what your skill set is? Think of what you can do that will add value to people’s lives. Do you possess knowledge or skills that will make people pay you to do it for them?
If yes, then you are on the right track. If not, come up with an ingenious idea that you can capitalize on.
How many will pay me? Do I have a market for this product or service?
Now that you have an idea of what you can base your business on, it’s time to think of your target market. Is there a target niche for your business idea?
Are they willing to pay for the services or products that I will offer?
Is there a group of people who needs my product?
If you do not identify this from the very beginning, chances are you will not be able to generate profit from your business.
You must be able to build a business which can target a specific need. If there is no need for your business, then you will not be able to gain sales. Your business should address the needs and wants of your market.
Once you have a target audience in mind, build a business around their needs. Your profits will come in no time.
How do I market my product? How can I reach them online?
A very important thing in business is being able to make the public aware of the products or services that you are offering.
There are a lot of ways to reach your market. Aside from the traditional ways of marketing, you can also reach them by promoting online. Having a website is something that you could do. Aside from that, there are so many social media channels wherein you can promote your company.
However, you should make sure that your promotional efforts are apt for the target market that you have in mind. Do your best to tailor-fit your marketing plan to your target audience.
How do I get out of this business? – How do I reduce the time I spend in my business?
Working on your business 24/7 does not make you an entrepreneur. It makes you stuck being self-employed.
Come up with a business that will allow you to get out of it at any time. Work towards creating a system that will enable you to have time to pursue your passion. Hire employees who will work for you. By doing this, you will be able to focus on creating more money and building more businesses.
By doing this, you will be able to do what you love.
You will be able to achieve freedom.
The most important question that you should ask yourself is this: Do you know your target audience?
Knowing your market will allow you to come up with a business that is relevant to the times. If you are able to familiarize yourself with your target niche, you will be able to create products and services that they would want to purchase.
