Everyone has a story to tell – a powerful tale that can inspire others to dream big and to think big.
In other words, YOU have the power to tell a story that will initiate change in the life of others.
However, most people do not know how to communicate their story. Instead of being able to inspire others to do MORE, they end up keeping their story to themselves.
What a waste.
Think of the lives that you could have changed and the impact that you would have made! With that said, you must strive hard to speak out and inspire others. Because, who knows?
You might have the potential to inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs and free-thinkers, the next set of scientists and inventors!
Here are some things that you can do to be able to start telling your story and inspiring others.
Feeling inspired? Write it down.
There are small nuggets of wisdom that come and go. When you feel inspired, it is best to write it down. These bits and pieces of ideas and inspirational phrases can be helpful in your future storytelling process.
Think of past experiences and recall how it shaped you
They say that experience is the best teacher. Think of your own personal challenges and triumphs. What you have learned in the process can be valuable information especially to others who are going through the same roadblocks and goliaths.
On a piece of paper, write down these key experiences and think of how you got through them. These might be as simple as getting a job in a hostile environment or as big as dreaming big and taking the plunge.
Practice your storytelling skills
Once you have an idea of what your story is and what you want to convey to the public, always keep in mind that you will need to hook them into your story. Come up with creative ways to tell your story. There are many ways to do that, but you must always keep this in mind:
Make sure that you begin your story with something that will excite your audience – something that will leave them wanting to hear more from you.
Speak from the HEART and be true to yourself
“To handle yourself, use your head; to handle others, use your heart.” – Eleanor Roosevelt
You are the author of your life story. Everything that happens in your life is a product of your efforts, of your experiences, of your ability to overcome fear. Your life story is your personal testimony.
Therefore, you must speak with your heart.
The best way to inspire others is by being true to yourself and by speaking from the heart. Your audience will feel that you are very sincere and that you really believe in what you are saying.
By speaking from your heart, you will be able to inspire others.
You will be able to initiate change.
